Location Photography: Blackburn Youth Zone

Workhouse have been working closely with Blackburn Youth Zone since the plans to build a state of the art youth centre in the heart of Blackburn were announced. Workhouse are providing marketing for Blackburn Youth Zone and this includes our photography services. Recently we’ve been doing location photography for them which includes the photos below of the site mid build.

Wedding Fashion shoot: Mitton Hall.

 
On Monday 21st November we were asked to do a wedding fashion shoot for one of our clients, Mitton Hall’s wedding advertising campaign.
 
The wedding fashion shoot took place at Mitton Hall and featured two excellent models, James Hogg and Debora Pucci. The brief was to create a series of interesting and visually compelling images to promote the romantic side of Mitton Hall, to affluent young couples who are planning on getting married. The only restrictions as far as the brief were concerned was that the images must convey love and show the romance of the ‘old hall’ – and make potential brides and grooms want to choose Mitton Hall as the perfect venue for their special day.
 

Product Shots for Daniel Thwaites.

 
We’ve been doing a lot of product shots for Lancashire Brewery Daniel Thwaites over the past month.
 
The shots have ranged from the more simple single bottle shots through to more elaborate group shots.
 
We were asked by Thwaites to create a new style of product shots which could be used across the whole range of beers, ales and lagers that they produce. The shots needed to be simple, clean and elegant and were to be used across a variety of media.

We had Tontarelli back in the studio last week asking us to shoot a new group photo for one of their products. We’ve been doing a lot of work for Tontarelli for a while now, and we’re getting some nice images out of it too.

Here’s some recent images from a recent location photography shoot we’ve done for The Whalley Wine Shop. Tom (The Whalley Wine Shop Manager) had asked us for some new photography for use on their website, he wanted the images shooting in black and white to help create some more arty images – focusing on the details and features in the shop.

We’ve been shooting a lot of location work recently and this week has included a location shoot at the newly built Pleckgate School in Blackburn. Pleckgate have just had a new state of the art school built, from the ground up, and wanted some new photography – focusing on architectural details.

Workhouse photographer Andrew Woodhouse has been revisiting some old favourite shots recently and re-discovered this shot of the Imperial War Museum North. Andrew says: “I really liked this shot when I first took it but couldn’t decide which way to take it, processing wise. When I revisited this shot recently I decided to go for a contrasty but slightly de-saturated look with lots of punch. I wanted something that complemented the unusual angle and distortion of the wide angle lens. I think the processing provides a different take on a oft photographed building.”

As well as shooting on location, we also do a lot of studio photography at Workhouse. Our studio, Workhouse Studios is ideal for this as it has 3500 sq ft of creative shooting space.

Workhouse photographer, Andrew Woodhouse was asked to shoot a main product feature for the magazine. We got to shoot some really cool products including a Cartier Watch, Tom Ford sunglasses and Cristal Champagne.

Location shoot: ACH Plumbing and Heating Services.

Workhouse Studios Commercial Photographer Andrew Woodhouse recently completed a shoot for ACH Plumbing and Heating Services director, Matt Ager. Matt had come to Andrew wanting some new photos for marketing use for his business.

Matt was very keen to get something a little different and settled on a location shoot in some slightly “unusual places”. The principle idea being to reinforce the idea that ACH Plumbing and Heating Services “go the extra mile” for their customers.
